WILMINGTON, Del., June 1, 2005 — DuPont Crop Protection announced today that it has obtained access to tebuconazole fungicide for Asian soybean rust from Bayer Crop Science. Tebuconazole is a triazole fungicide that provides preventative and curative control of Asian soybean rust. Tebuconazole has been granted Section 18 registrations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for rust control in several states. Pending regulatory approvals, DuPont Crop Protection will initially offer tebuconazole under a Section 18 Quarantine Exemption label to growers as DuPont™ Uppercut™. “DuPont is committed to helping soybean growers produce a healthy profitable crop,” said Mark Wolters, U.S. marketing manager. “With the addition of tebuconazole for controlling rust, growers now have a range of DuPont products to help them manage their production needs, including Asana® XL for soybean aphids, Canopy®, Classic® and Synchrony® herbicides and Pioneer® brand products.” DuPont is a science company.
