Technology Transfer in the New Millennium
- Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) recently selected DuPont
leading edge purified terephthalic acid (PTA) technology
for a 530,000 tonne plant at Panipat, Haryana, scheduled
for start up in 2003.
- Indian Railways are saving millions of rupees every year
thanks to Delrin® guide bushes, a DuPont product.
- Indira Gandhi canal in Rajasthan has used Typar® goeotextiles
for preventing embankment erosion.
Promotion of Agriculture
- In the area of Crop Protection, DuPont India has striven
to bring the technologies of tomorrow to the Indian people
introducing new chemistry products in the country together
with the United States and the rest of the world.
- The South Asian Field Experimental Station (SAFES) at
Savli, Guajarat, which became operational in 2000 offers
testing facilities for new crop protection products for
South Asia and the Asia Pacific region. It is intended to
facilitate technical transfer from DuPont global field sites,
offer technical support to South Asian customers and provide
training to DuPont India agricultural sales and development
teams.
