Meets or Exceeds SHRP Specs

The above five-axis "spidergraph" shows the relationship between test values required for a SHRP Grade PG 64-28 asphalt binder, and the values obtained using a 1.5 percent level of Elvaloy® RET in a mixture of hard and soft asphalts.

The axis at 12 o'clock shows the temperature (in 6-degree intervals) where the G* /sin delta is 1 kPa. The axis at 2 o'clock shows the temperatures where the RTFO residue gives a value of 2.2 kPa. The axis at 4 o'clock shows the temperature (in 3-degree intervals) where the PAV residue G*sin delta value is less than 5000 kPa. The axes at 7 and 10 o'clock show the low-temperature properties in 6-degree intervals.

As shown, a binder formulated with Elvaloy® RET easily meets or exceeds SHRP test values needed for the PG 64-28 rating in this example.
