Jacob Holm to Acquire DuPont™ Sontara® Business from DuPont Protection Technologies
The sale is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2014, pending customary regulatory approvals.
DuPont Protection Technologies (DPT) and Jacob Holm & Sonner Holdings A/S (Jacob Holm) have announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Jacob Holm to acquire the DuPont Sontara® business. Sontara® is an exceptionally strong, nonwoven textile sheet fabric created by DuPont. This transaction, detailed in the trade press release below, is consistent with our objective to continually evaluate our portfolio and position every business for optimal performance and future success. It also supports DuPont's evolution into a higher growth, higher value company, focused on bringing innovative advances that meet the global challenges of providing enough healthy food for people everywhere, decreasing dependence on fossil fuels, and protecting life and the environment through our integrated science.
The Sontara® business and our approximately 240 colleagues in this business are well-positioned for success in the future as part of Jacob Holm, which through this transaction, strengthens its global position as a leader in spunlaced nonwoven fabrics.

Sontara® is a global nonwovens business that produces products used in a variety of medical and wipes applications. Jacob Holm is a leading company for spunlaced nonwoven fabrics.

At closing, Jacob Holm will acquire Sontara® assets at DuPont sites in Asturias, Spain; Old Hickory, Tenn.; and approximately 240 employees worldwide, primarily in Spain and the United States.
