The award-winning series Horizons returns to BBC World News in its fourth season, showcasing the companies solving issues facing our growing world.

Presented by premiere business journalist Adam Shaw, Horizons continues its journey around the globe discovering the latest technologies and innovations that could revolutionize the way we live.

From Segway-style wheelchairs that are giving independence to the disabled to floating homes in Amsterdam, to an inexpensive and innovative microscope created from paper, Horizons season 4 continues the search for the ideas and people tackling many of the challenges facing our planet.

 This weekend on the newest episode of the series "Gates: Improving Lives", Adam will speak with Bill and Melinda Gates on their vision for how science and technology can be employed around the world in order to deal with reducing the global burden of disease, promoting education and slashing poverty.
