Our engineers and scientists today continue a remarkable legacy of DuPont technical excellence and innovation, as evidenced by their important scientific achievements. Among the DuPont scientists and engineers honored by the scientific community are Nobel Laureate Charles Pedersen; National Medal of Technology Winners Stephanie Kwolek, George Levitt, and Howard Simmons; members of the National Inventors Hall of Fame; and American Chemical Society Heroes of Chemistry winners. In 2015, DuPont Senior Scientist Philippe Horvath, based in Dangé-Saint-Romain, France, was awarded the prestigious Massry Prize for his groundbreaking work on CRISPR-Cas. Horvath shares the prize with Jennifer Doudna, professor, Molecular & Cell Biology and Chemistry at Berkeley University of California, and Emmanuelle Charpentier, scientific member and director at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin. In 2016, Horvath was recognized with the Canada Gairdner International Award and the 2016 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize. Also in 2016, DuPont Technical Director Henry Bryndza received the American Chemical Society's Earle B. Barnes Award for Leadership in Chemical Research Management. Brian McCauley was recognized with the National Chemical Technician Award. And Aldos (Al) Barefoot and Sharon L. Haynie were named 2016 Fellows by the Amercian Chemical Society.

DuPont also received the CRDF Global Corporate Impact Award for its commitment to science collaboration and developing science-based innovation to nourish a growing population and build and engergy-secure future. DuPont has also been honored for innovation excellence by such programs as the Biorenewable Deployment Consortium's Outstanding Achievement Awards.
