Barry M. Granger
Vice President - DuPont Government Marketing & Government Affairs
Barry M. Granger is vice president for DuPont Government Marketing & Government Affairs. In this role he has responsibility for marketing DuPont products and services to the U.S. Government and global responsibility for government affairs; including U.S. Federal and State and International affairs. He joined DuPont in 1987 at the Chambers Works manufacturing site in Deepwater, N.J.
Prior to his current position, he served as the vice president and general manager of DuPont Nonwovens (Tyvek® and Sontara® brands). He has held various positions in manufacturing supervision and business management in DuPont. In 1990, he became product manager in the Performance Products business unit. In 1993, Mr. Granger transferred to Houston, Texas, and became operations manager, Gulf Coast region for DuPont Environmental Remediation Services. In 1995, he was appointed sales and marketing manager for Basic and Intermediate Chemicals. In addition, he assumed product management responsibility for methylamine products. In 1996, Mr. Granger was executive assistant to the chairman and CEO, and the office of the chief executive members. He also was assistant secretary of DuPont and secretary to the Strategic Direction and Environmental Policy Committees of the board of directors. In 1998 he was named business director for Cyrel® Packaging Graphics Products. In June 2001, the Cyrel® Packaging Graphics Products and DuPont Color Proofing businesses were combined to create a new strategic business unit, DuPont Imaging Technologies. In November 2002, he was named as the vice president and general manager for Imaging Technologies. In May 2006, the Ink Jet & Specialty Colorants business unit merged with Imaging Technologies with the objective to leverage common expertise, market synergy and assets to further drive market development and accelerate growth. In October 2006, DuPont Authentication and DuPont Display Enhancements were aligned with Imaging Technologies. In December 2006, Mr. Granger was assigned platform responsibility for Integrated Marketing Services. He was assigned his current role effective July 1 2009.
Prior to joining DuPont, Mr. Granger was with the Dow Chemical Company from 1981 to 1985. He held various assignments in manufacturing at Dow Chemical's Freeport, Texas, division.
He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1981. In addition, he received his master's degree in business administration from Indiana University in 1987. He is active in many community activities; including on the board of trustees of Delaware State University. He is a former board member of Salesianum High School and Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore. His hobbies include weightlifting, golf and listening to jazz music.
