DuPont is a proud participant in leading sustainability initiatives that are committed to increasing and improving energy efficient buildings. We have been a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for many years. USGBC developed LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) to establish a common standard of measurement and promote integrated, whole-building design practices. We also signed onto the World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Building Manifesto. As a WBCSD member, we firmly believe that our company’s actions towards creating a demand for energy-efficient buildings in local markets and improving energy performance in buildings will be vital to achieving large scale building emissions reductions.

To deliver on this commitment, we are creating solutions for energy-efficient buildings like DuPont™ Weatherization System products, which help residential and commercial projects qualify for points that contribute to LEED certification. We also recognize the importance of walking the talk, and we ourselves have committed to improving the performance of our buildings. Next generation DuPont buildings across the globe are being constructed in accordance with advanced building design concepts to ensure improved long-term operations. We have been tracking the energy efficiency of our office buildings since 2009 while monitoring our manufacturing and R&D lab facilities.
