DuPont seeks consistent, measurable progress in implementing its Commitment: Safety Health and the Environment throughout its worldwide operations and supports Responsible Care® as a key program to achieve this Commitment.
Responsible Care® is the American Chemistry Council® (ACC) global initiative to continuously improve its operations in terms of health, safety and environmental standards. DuPont was a leader in the development of the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® Codes of Management Practices.
DuPont integrated the Responsible Care® Codes of Management Practices into its procedures to support its strong efforts in the areas of safety and health, process safety, environmental, distribution, product stewardship, community awareness and emergency response, and security.
A number of DuPont US manufacturing sites implemented the ACC Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) based on the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) continuous improvement model. As a requirement of this system, an external third party registrar audits a sampling of the businesses, US sites and headquarters against the 30 elements of the ACC RCMS Technical Specification, and notes conformance to the system for the individual units being audited.
The ACC mark, Responsible Care®, and the hands logo mark are registered service marks of the American Chemistry Council, Inc.
