Dow Recognized by TSMC with Supplier Excellence Award for CMP Materials

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)—the leading and largest global foundry of semiconductor integrated circuits (IC)—maintains a rigorous supply chain, and annually recognizes its most valuable suppliers. Dow Electronic Materials is honored to have received a 2015 Supplier Excellence Award from TSMC for performance in the development and delivery of materials for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP).

As the IC fab industry extends Moore’s law and planar manufacturing to create 3D ICs for advanced nodes, more innovative CMP process steps are needed to form both transistors and on-chip interconnects. The Supplier Excellence Award recognizes Dow Electronic Materials’ success in supporting TSMC’s ongoing need for leading-edge CMP materials and process development. Additionally, Dow’s Asia-Pacific Technical Center in Hsinchu, Taiwan, close to Hsinchu Science Park, ensures its ability to collaborate closely with TSMC and other key customers in the region.
