The DuPont Integrated Emergency Response
program helps industries and communities handle hazardous
materials and dangerous goods and prepare for effective
early response to chemical incidents. Basically, the program
serves two major purposes:
The program is intended as a guide to
ensure that responses to chemical emergencies are consistent
with corporate policy, as well as product distribution
standards, emergency planning, community preparedness, and
industrial initiatives such as CAER and Responsible
Care®. It is an important part of DuPont's ongoing
commitment to the continual improvement of chemical
management within our industry. The program illustrates how our worldwide
manufacturing operations will provide timely and effective
emergency response to incidents involving the DuPont
materials we manufacture, use or transport. It explains how we will assist with other
off-site chemical emergencies in which DuPont's knowledge
and experience may be needed to prevent personal injury and
protect the environment. Finally, it outlines our comprehensive
training programs that are designed to improve the skills of
those facing chemical emergencies. The program plays a vital role in helping
DuPont remain a responsible leader, preferred supplier and
welcome member of the communities in which we do business
and through which our products are transported. |
