DuPont Filaments to Increase Nylon Monofilament Prices

WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 16, 2004 – DuPont Filaments today announced that its global operating companies will implement price increases for their nylon 612 monofilaments effective Sept. 1. The increases range from 3 to 5 percent for widely used grades; higher percentages may apply to some specialty products.

The regional operating companies that make up DuPont Filaments are DuPont Xingda Filaments Co., Ltd. in Wuxi, China; DuPont Filaments-Europe BV in Landgraaf, The Netherlands; and DuPont Filaments-Americas, LLC in Wilmington, Del.

Costs of raw materials and energy, which have continued to rise this year, are driving this increase in DuPont Filaments’ prices. The increases apply to all market segments and all brands of nylon 612 filaments. They cover DuPont™ Tynex® filaments for paintbrushes, toothbrushes and cosmetic brushes, DuPont™ Chinex® filaments for paintbrushes and DuPont™ Tynex® A abrasive filaments for floor cleaning and industrial finishing.
