Fuel System Design: DuPont offers the industry’s broadest portfolio of materials for fuel system components, including elastomers, fluoropolymers, fluoroelastomers and thermoplastics. These materials free engineers from metal’s design constraints while reducing weight and vapor emissions.
Sustainability: DuPont materials cost-effectively reduce permeation and resist attack from conventional fuels and aggressive biofuels to help meet emissions regulations, reduce fossil fuel dependence and improve reliability.
Biofuels: We have a joint venture with BP to develop biobutanol, which has a 25% higher energy density than ethanol, can be blended into conventional gasoline at higher concentrations, and can be used in existing vehicles. We are also advancing enzyme technologies to help enable cost-effective ethanol.

DuPont™ Krytox® performance lubricants are nonflammable, chemically inert oils and greases that offer thermal stability for automotive and industrial applications, including bearings, seals, and gaskets.
DuPont™ Tefzel® ETFE fluoropolymer resin is a modified ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene fluoropolymer available as pellets, or as powder for rotational molding. Tefzel® ETFE resin combines mechanical toughness with an outstanding chemical inertness that approaches that of DuPont™ Teflon® fluoropolymer resins.
