Soy, the Sustainable Protein
Sustainable protein is essential to our future. By 2050, the world population will reach 9.1 billion, creating a demand for protein that is 74% higher than it is today.
Soy provides the best option to meet this increasing need, because of its quality, the efficiency with which it can be produced, and its relatively low cost and environmental impact when compared to other complete proteins.
Part of the challenge in producing more food is finding ways to do so with fewer resources. While one acre of farmland can yield 20 lbs of beef or 78 lbs of egg protein or 82 lbs of milk protein, soy can produce 356 lbs of protein. Soy-based diets also use significantly fewer environmental resources, from farm to fork, than meat-based diets.
DuPont Nutrition & Health is a world leader in developing innovative soy technologies and ingredients for food, meat and nutritional products, providing more than 1,000 products to customers in nearly 100 countries around the world. All of the products are backed by our Quality Management System, which is focused on delivering products that exceed industry standards for safety, consistency and overall quality. As the world population increases, DuPont™ Danisco® soy proteins can help meet the need for high quality sustainable protein.
