Diversity Best Practices (DBP) unveiled its second annual DBP Inclusion Index, providing data and insight into how participating organizations fared in three areas: diversity and inclusion practices in recruitment, retention and advancement; organizational culture; and demographic transparency.

Out of 124 organizations that participated, DuPont was among the 73 organizations that earned a score of at least 65% and a place on this year's index. The DBP Index has recognized DuPont as a "workplace where people are free to be themselves" by "exemplifying what companies should be doing to help recruit, train and retain a diverse workforce".

Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index

The DBP Inclusion Index provides information to help organizations understand gaps in demographic representation and provide a strategic roadmap to drive internal change to find and implement Diversity & Inclusion solutions. Diversity Best Practices is the preeminent organization for organizational diversity thought leaders to share the best practices and develop innovative solutions for culture change. They determined that organizations scoring 65% and above should be recognized for their high-quality diversity and inclusion work, and named them Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index Members.

Companies were recognized on the DBP Inclusion Index as meeting standards of excellence in three areas:

Transparency, as indicated by willingness to share specific data on representation of women, people of color and other minority groups within their workforces. (30%)

Adherence to Best Practices in Recruitment, Retention and Advancement for fostering diversity and inclusion. (35%)

Best practices in promoting a Company Culture that values D&I. (35%)

"It's wonderful to see how the DBP Inclusion Index has grown in its second year with more companies willing to share their progress and workforce demographics," says Deborah Munster, executive director, Diversity Best Practices. "We commend their transparency as they continue to strive for excellence in creating an inclusive environment for all employees."
