WavePak™ ceramic porcelain tower packing offers the best of both worlds. It can help your sulfuric acid plant boost performance even as it lowers your costs. Our unique design offers significant technological advantages over other packing types. The unique W shape of our saddles optimizes internal gas distribution, for higher capacities and mass transfer efficiencies. Equally important, the unique construction of WavePak™ pays you back by significantly reducing pressure drop, compared to conventional saddles.
Lower Pressure Drop, for Higher Savings
Reducing pressure drop not only enhances performance of sulfuric acid towers — it also leads to big savings. Many plants save as much as $10,000 per year in operating costs for each inch of pressure drop that they reclaim with WavePak™ tower packing, when replacing three-inch saddles. If a plant saves four inches of pressure drop, it can recoup $40,000 per year in operating costs, for a profitable return on investment.

WavePak™ saddles feature a distinctive design that increases mass transfer efficiencies within sulfuric acid plant tower processes.
WavePak™ tower packing can be implemented within any current sulfuric acid tower design. When used in MECS® ZeCor® Towers, the WavePak™ tower packing is supported directly by our exclusive ZeCor® alloy grating, which eliminates the need for grid bars or partition rings that are typical in conventional brick-lined towers. This reduces the pressure drop across the packing bed even further, for additional savings.
