Avoiding Pavement Rutting at Kiev Victory Square
Busy Central Square in Kiev, Ukraine, Avoids Rutting

Broad boulevards leading into Peremogy (Victory) Square in Kiev, Ukraine, were once meant for grand pageantry and military parades. But with a booming local "car culture" the roads are now typically clogged with downtown workers and shoppers, often brought to a standstill. Local temperatures range from -20C to 35C.
In 2001, anticipating high loads from military parades and traffic celebrating the 10th anniversary of Ukraine independence, local officials repaved the square and its approaches using asphalt binder strengthened by modification with Elvaloy® RET.
