Project Profile: Dupont™ Weatherization Systems and Willowick Park Complex

Case Study |

Project profile: DuPont Weatherization System products help simplify a complex construction project

Goal

This ambitious project covers three city blocks and consists of three construction projects being carried out simultaneously including two distinct mid-rise apartment buildings, and a cluster of townhomes.

Challenge

To be able to use a single, high-performing building envelope system that can fulfill the requirements of all three building types and help simplify logistics, ease construction, and control costs—all while optimizing durability, comfort, and energy efficiency for the new, upscale rental properties.

Solution

DuPont offers an integrated weatherization solution consisting of both a fluid applied air and water barrier and mechanically-fastened building wraps. DuPont WRBs integrate with DuPont Flashing Systems products to create a complete air and water barrier solution.

“Tyvek® is the premier wrap on the market. I’ve been using it for 20+ years, and never had a problem. Most designers are familiar with it and know that it works.
And, Tyvek® has one of the better perm ratings out there. With Houston’s extreme heat and humidity, having a product that acts as a moisture barrier but doesn’t trap moisture is really important to prevent corrosion, rot, and health issues such as mold growth.”
