LAS VEGAS, April 26, 2011 – Eight new colors of DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces blend all the ingredients of a great meal – diversity of color, attention to detail and good taste – and offer a variety of colors to please the most discerning design palettes.

Inspired by the rich and varied hues and textures of spice, the 2011 colors, including Hickory Smoke, Clove, Allspice, Basil, Cilantro, Arrowroot, Blue Spice and Hazelnut, enhance the already robust palette of more than 100 Corian® colors created to satisfy every taste.

“Everybody needs a little more spice in their life – especially in the home, where creativity and comfort really matter,” said Lori Alzamora, North American marketing manager - DuPont Building Innovations. “From surprising details to striking colors and design, our new colors will provide kitchen and bath designers with both style and practicality, while giving homeowners surfaces that can be enjoyed from generation to generation, like a good recipe.”

DuPont worked with a cadre of designers to create the 2011 Corian® palette and thoughtfully offer the most appealing shades and textures, while giving homeowners the durability and practicality that they require.  By executing industry-leading market research in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, DuPont identified the color trends that are driving design in a variety of environments both inside the home and in commercial spaces.

Homeowners and designers will appreciate the small details, surprising intensity and dramatic beauty that the 2011 Corian® solid surface colors bring to the countertop.  Stunning hues with dramatic flakes and flashes of particles set the new colors apart, while providing an aesthetic complementary to both traditional and contemporary spaces.  These eye-catching colors are ideally suited to contrast or highlight every element in the room, from flooring to fixtures, walls to ceilings, and appliances to cabinets.  Homeowners can express their individual sense of style by taking any of the DuPont™ Corian® colors beyond the countertop, with unique applications such as backsplashes, vertical wall accents and shower and tub surrounds.

DuPont™ Corian® solid surface material can be used in a variety of residential applications including kitchen and bathroom countertops, backsplashes, wet bars, tub decks and tub and shower surrounds.  DuPont™ Corian® is nonporous and with proper cleaning does not promote the growth of mold, mildew or bacteria. The entire DuPont™ Corian® product line ranges in price from approximately $40 - $80 per square-foot installed and carries a transferable ten-year residential installed, limited warranty from DuPont.  Pricing varies on complexity, color and project location. .More information on the entire DuPont Surfaces portfolio is available at or by calling 800-4-CORIAN (DuPont™ Corian®) or 877-229-3935 (DuPont™ Zodiaq®).
