DuPont worked with a cadre of designers to create the 2011 DuPont™ Corian® palette and thoughtfully offer the most appealing shades and textures, while giving architects and designers the durability and practicality that they require.  By executing industry-leading market research in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, DuPont identified the color trends that are driving design in a variety of environments both in commercial environments and within the home.

Designers will appreciate the small details, surprising intensity and dramatic beauty that the 2011 DuPont™ Corian® solid surface colors bring to the surface.  Stunning hues with dramatic flakes and flashes of particles set the new colors apart, while providing an aesthetic complement to a variety of design inspirations.  These eye-catching colors are ideally suited to contrast or highlight every element in the room, from flooring to fixtures, walls to ceilings, and furniture to lighting.

In commercial environments, architects and designers can use DuPont™ Corian® solid surface to create unique, beautiful design statements through numerous vertical applications, such as interior wall surfacing, patterned and backlit wall accents, wainscoting, backsplashes, furniture and ceiling designs, as well as through horizontal applications, such as workstations and countertops, retail displays and fixtures, furniture, lighting and decorative pieces.  Corian® solid surface material can be incorporated into a variety of environments, including office, retail, education, foodservice, hospitality, and healthcare spaces such as operating rooms, emergency rooms, waiting areas and patient rooms.

With proper cleaning, Corian® solid surface does not promote the growth of mold, mildew or bacteria.  It meets all of the 18 preferred characteristics outlined in the 2006 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Health Care Facilities as the ideal healthcare surface to help facilitate improved infection control procedures.  Nontoxic and non-allergenic to humans, DuPont™ Corian® solid surface also has received NSF/ANSI 51 Certification for food contact and Class Ι (A) fire rating.
