IsoTherming® hydroprocessing technology meets ultra-low-sulfur specifications through hydrotreating or mild hydrocracking to reach more global markets, while lowering capital and operating costs. This innovative technology provides the hydrogen necessary for reactions through a unique saturated liquid recycle stream. Our technology eliminates the need for a recycle gas compressor and associated equipment, and makes the flow through the reactor a single, liquid phase. This reduces capital costs and lowers annual operating costs, while meeting ultra-low-sulfur specifications in motor fuels. The hydrotreated liquid recycle stream also acts as a heat sink, resulting in less unwanted cracking, less coking, reduced light-ends make, reduced maintenance, and increased catalyst life.
By removing hydrogen dissolution from the reactor, the IsoTherming® hydroprocessing technology also removes any mass transfer limitation from your overall reactions, kinetically controlling the reaction rate for faster processing. As a result, the reactor can be sized for the hydroprocessing reactions themselves, rather than for dissolving of hydrogen in the reaction mixture.
