Citrus Tree Response After Exirel™ Application

Forrest Taylor, a citrus manager in Florida, describes tree response after applications of Exirel™

Forrest Taylor, a citrus manager in Florida, describes tree response after applications of Exirel insect control to help control leafminer, citrus psyllid and other damaging insects.

Insect control was good, as he expected, Taylor says, but the tree response was unexpected: He observed denser canopies and overall better appearance than the same trees the previous year. And citrus yield on trees treated with Exirel™ was 26 percent greater than trees treated with a grower standard program.

The EPA registered label contains the statement, “This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allow to drift to blooming crops or weeds if bees are foraging in the treatment area.” State registrations for DuPont™ Exirel™ insect control are pending.
