Prevent Thrips Damage, Improve Yield

Researcher John Curtis reports on Verimark™ trials for control of thrips and other damaging pests.

John Curtis, an entomologist and independent researcher, describes the effect of thrips populations on pepper crops. Both thrips and armyworms can significantly reduce pepper production and even force growers to abandon raising peppers in certain areas.

Trials with DuPont™ Verimark™ insect control showed Curtis how well it can control aphids and some thrip species, which resulted in increased yield compared with grower standard programs.

The EPA registered label contains the statement, “This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment on blooming crops or weeds.
