Voices of Experience: Perspective® Adds Bareground Productivity
Bareground applicators need to cover a lot of ground quickly to reach outlying sites before weeds take over. The need to haul, measure and mix large volumes of herbicides slows down crews and hurts productivity. Now there’s a better option.
As part of a bareground weed control program, DuPont™ Perspective® herbicide helps control tough perennial broadleaf weeds at low use rates for less storage, hauling and mixing. For applicator crews, that means getting weed control right the first time and fewer return trips to restock trucks – or worse, to handle repeat treatments.
Less Hauling and Storage
Covering 60 counties throughout Kansas, crews for Lease Spraying Service, Inc., travel far and wide to manage bareground control at oil and utility sites.
“It’s nice not to have to pack so much herbicide when we’re traveling into the country,” says Tom Schreck, president of Lease Spraying Service, based at Victoria, Kan. “With Perspective®, you just throw a jug or two in the truck.”
Saving travel time is also important for Clint Coleman, owner, Towers Plus, LLC, Choudrant, La. Coleman’s crews maintain about 540 cell phone tower sites throughout the South.
“With the low use rate of Perspective®, our crews can carry enough herbicide to finish their work without returning for more product,” Coleman notes. “That’s a huge benefit when using Perspective®.”
Less Mixing Time
Paul Washburn, president of Washburn Contract Services, Inc., Dallas, Ore., also appreciates the handling ease of Perspective® and the reduced mixing time.
“It’s a lot easier to handle 100 pounds of Perspective® than 200 to 300 gallons of a liquid product,” he notes. “You can fit all the herbicide needed for the day in a very small area of your truck.
“The low use rate for Perspective® also saves a lot of preparation and mixing time,” Washburn adds. “Compared to using a high-volume liquid product, the Perspective® dry flowable formulation cuts prep time by 20 to 30 percent. It’s an impressive timesaver.”
