Tedlar® is an Ideal Release Material to Protect Composite Molds
DuPont™ Tedlar® release films help provide an ideal release for fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites.
With Tedlar® release films, the molds of parts and linings are protected and have ability to stay in place during curing and processing under temperature and pressure.
Reduce manufacturing costs
Tedlar® release films help reduce manufacturing costs in multiple ways. With an excellent release from resin systems, the need for wet-applied release additional agents is eliminated. Also, with a matte finish and a high level of surface quality, manufacturing steps, such as sanding, are eliminated and rejection and re-work rates are greatly reduced.
Tedlar® release films also have the strength and formability to reduce finishing times and surface defects.
Typical applications include:
- Wind turbines
- Windmill blades
- Aviation parts
- Computers
- Electronics
