SoBind Harmony is renewably sourced and biodegradable. It is an effective and reliable way to improve personal care product sustainability profiles. This product family was developed as a result of a growing consumer demand for a wider choice of renewable, sustainable and plant-based ingredients, as well as the rise of ethical consumerism. Our Product Stewardship process is how we ensure that these products are designed with the highest consideration for consumer safety, health, and well-being. It also ensures our processes are regularly reviewed in order to continue to minimize the overall impact of our operations to the environment. 

DuPont Soy Polymers endeavors to create sustainable, plant based products that offer technical solutions to customers seeking more effective and less toxic products. As shown by our safety and toxicology testing profiles, the SoBind™ Harmony family is non-irritating and non-cytotoxic. Test results show that it meets the requirements of USP <51> Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing (USP 34), and so is not likely to challenge modern cosmetic preservative systems. These results suggest that our soy polymers can be considered safe for topical use on humans and animals, and may reduce the impact on the environment.

Renewably Sourced

SoBindTM Harmony Soy Polymers are sourced from renewable soybeans. Crops do not bring new carbon into the eco-cycle and can be grown all over the world.

Bio-Degradable

As our products are renewably sourced from vegetable origin, our products are 100% biodegradable (vs. industry standard for ready, ultimate biodegradability, ASTM E1720) as well as compostable (ASTM D6400).

Smaller Carbon Footprint

Cradle to gate life cycle analysis (LCA) that SoBindTM Harmony Soy Polymers have a smaller carbon footprint than emulsion polymers, equivalent to more than one third the amount in grams of carbon equivalents – and more than 50% less fossil fuel depletion in MJ, per ISO 14040.
