New Metallization Pastes Maximize Efficiency and Reliability of Solar Cells and Panels Utilizing PERC Technology

DuPont Solamet® PV76x photovoltaic metallization pastes are a new series of front side silver pastes designed to maximize efficiencies and improve the reliability of solar cells and panels utilizing Passivated Emitter Rear Cell (PERC) technology.

A Complete Family of Pastes Includes PV36x, PV56x and PV76x

  • DuPont is the first in the industry to introduce a complete family of Solamet® pastes designed to enable PERC technology.  The family includes Solamet® PV36x local back surface field aluminum pastes, Solamet® PV56x series rear-side tabbing pastes and Solamet® PV76x frontside silver pastes.
  • Working synergistically, these pastes have achieved 19.6 percent total efficiency with multi-crystalline PERC solar cells, and in production have delivered more than 0.15% efficiency gains for both multi- and mono-crystalline silicon PERC solar cells.
  • Additional benefits include improved open circuit voltage (Voc), short circuit current (Jsc), back surface field (BSF) formation, adhesion to passivation layers, minimized Kirkendall voids and reliability.
