of applications stainless steel is the preferred substrate material.
Thick film on steel substrates bring with them the advantages of low
thermal mass, meaning quicker-heat up rate, improved controllability
and therefore economy to the customer. It exhibits improved ability to
select and control the resistance and TCR (Temperature Coefficient of
Resistance) of the element itself, the potential for incorporating
additional functionality on the element, for example, printed
temperature sensors or control circuitry as well as rapid design
flexibility and prototyping.
