Transparency for the process of justice’ at Miami

| The Miami Courthouse: a feeling of equity and
balance from the exterior. |
“Transparency for the process
of justice, literally and metaphorically, lots of natural light inside,
extensive views of the Biscayne Bay and a feeling of openness” is what
Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica says his firm wanted for Miami’s new
federal courthouse, which is part of the U.S. General Services
Administration’s “Design Excellence” program.

Bogota Chamber of Commerce : ‘a box of stone and laminated glass’

For the Colombian Chamber of Commerce in Bogota, the design dream of
two local architectural firms, AIA Arquitectos and Convel, was “a big
stone box with a gigantic glass opening at the front of the principal
facade facing El Dorado Avenue, one of the city’s busiest streets.” Known
locally as the ‘Camara, this is a simple, minimalist building has a
substantial visual impact on the city.

city’s airport. Laminated glass provided an efficient acoustic barrier
