Laminated glass makes travel more enjoyable
Hannover Skywalk pedestrian linkway delivers shelter and maximum transparency
 | The Hannover Skywalk gained an honorable mention in the 1999 DuPont Benedictus Awards. |
The Hannover skywalk was designed to form a speedy pedestrian linkway, sheltered from the elements, running between Hannover's Expo-station and the Expo 2000 area. Architects Schulitz+Partner of Braunschweig, Germany wanted "maximum transparency". The skywalk's façade uses 6+6 mm curved, laminated safety glass with a solar control coating on the upper panes. The 338 panes of this sophisticated solar control glass were supplied in just five weeks by Cricursa of Spain while 332 further panes of regular laminated curved glass were supplied by Tambest of Finland.
