Three sided laminated glass pavilion distinguishes South Florida vacation home
Bringing all the advantages back home
 | LAMINATED GLASS PAVILION ON THE BEACH WINS AIA HONOR AWARD |
Richard Meier and Partners designed a 'three sided laminated glass pavilion' (8m high glass walls) for a Munich couple's South Florida vacation home. Use of laminated glass gave the owners incredible views and passed strict Dade County building codes with flying colors – "the only glazing solution that can do so," according to Meier Architect Don Cox. The laminator for the project, which won the AIA's 1999 Honor Award was Viracon of Owatonna (MN); Butacite® PVB was the interlayer used. The curtain wall supplier was Berger Iron Works of Houston, Texas.
