MPD is a low toxicity diamine used as key component in the manufacture of engineering polymers, aramid fibers, epoxy resins, wire enamel coatings and polyurea elastomers. MPD is also used for removing aldehyde impurities in chemical processing, as an accelerator for adhesive resins, and as a component for hair dyes and dyes for leather and textiles. Properties which make MPD so versatile are its fire resistance, excellent chemical and temperature stability and fast cure.
MPD is offered in flake and cast solid forms. Upon request, it can also be supplied molten in bulk. MPD flakes are light green to off-white in color. The cast form is a tan crystalline solid, and molten MPD is a clear liquid. All forms tend to darken in storage.
MPD is soluble in water, alcohol, and most organic solvents.
Specifications and other information for MPD are easily obtained by sending us a request form or by contacting us.
