Lightweight solutions for body structure and battery pack assemblies featured
Neu-Isenburg, Germany, April 3, 2019 – AHEAD™ (Accelerating Hybrid-Electric Autonomous Driving), an initiative launched in late 2018, combines portfolios across the new DuPont to deliver solutions for the growing global hybrid and electric vehicle market. Polymer- and elastomer-based technologies that enable lightweight components and novel joining/assembly methods will be featured during the Plastics in Automotive Engineering (PIAE) show taking place on 3-4 April 2019 in Mannheim, Germany.
“Advanced polymers and structural adhesives that deliver ease of assembly, long-term durability and strong, lightweight, electrically-friendly solutions for HEV/EV applications, are going to be instrumental as the landscape of mobility continues to evolve,” said Eugenio Toccalino, global marketing director, DuPont Transportation & Advanced Polymers. “The AHEAD™ initiative leverages our heritage portfolio along with new innovations to help make today’s and tomorrow’s hybrid/electric vehicles lighter, stronger, quieter and safer.”
