Design Example 2 – Constant FEED Flow Rate
The typical way to design is to allow an increase in feed flow during PF Mode (to improve cross flow). In the majority of applications including city water feed and systems with an upstream buffer tank, there are no issues with increasing the flow rate during PF Mode. Regardless, CCRO may be configured with constant net flow rate where the average, PF and CC Feed Flow rates are all equal.
The following are the steps/inputs to create a constant Feed Flow rate (see Figure 1):
- Set ‘Feed Ratio’ to 100%. This results in no increase in flow during PF Mode
- Net Feed Flow, PF Feed Flow and CC Feed Flow are all equal (ex. All feed flows equal 111gpm).
