DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions Exhibits in 9th Renewable Energy India Expo

Features Advanced Materials and Key Collaborations to Promote Solar Growth

NEW DELHI, Sept. 23, 2015 – During the 9th Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) from Sept. 22 – 25, 2015, in Greater Noida, India, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions (DuPont) will be highlighting advanced materials and key collaborations developed to help improve the power output, reliability and return on investment (ROI) for solar energy systems.  The company also will be participating in two key leadership forums and signing a strategic collaboration agreement with leading Indian solar company, Navitas Solar.

“It’s essential to consider the safety, durability and long-term performance of systems as the industry works to achieve India’s solar target to install 100 gigawatts of solar energy target by 2022,” said Rajaram Pai, business leader, DuPont Electronics & Communications and Photovoltaic Solutions, South Asia.  “By working together with leading companies across the solar value chain and leveraging materials that are proven to stand the test of time, we’re confident that we can successfully establish solar as a more efficient and sustainable long-term electricity source to meet India’s growing energy demands.”

DuPont will feature key collaborations during the show, including one with JinkoSolar on its highly efficient and durable Eagle solar panel, made using DuPont materials, another with a new local laminator, Neoflex Industries, for solar backsheets.  It also plans to sign a new strategic collaboration agreement with Navitas Green Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Navitas Solar).  The agreement will focus on improvements in the durability and reliability of solar panels through the supply of DuPont™ Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film as a critical material for solar backsheets and on programs to help create awareness about the importance of materials selection.

At its booth (Hall 5, Stand 5.33), DuPont will exhibit panels from its extensive field testing program that demonstrate how materials matter for long-term durability and highlight its latest advanced materials.  Key materials include two new DuPont™ Solamet® photovoltaic metallization pastes for high-efficiency solar cells, Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film-based backsheet materials, and high-performance polymer resins for photovoltaic panels and parts.

In addition, during two REI leadership forums on Sept. 24, DuPont will share insights on the market and the future of the solar energy industry in India. DuPont is hosting a discussion on “Driving Sustainable, Reliable Performance of Solar Projects and Achieving Higher Financial Returns,” with Rajaram Pai as a panelist, and Lan Ma, global marketing director, DuPont Photovoltaic Fluoromaterials, will be a panelist and presenter during the leadership forum, “Make in India-RE Sector.”
