FilmTec™ Dry Seawater Reverse Osmosis 8" Elements

FilmTec™ SW30HRLE-400 Dry

Starting in 2020, DuPont Water Solutions will offer our customers dry seawater reverse osmosis FilmTec™ elements.  An industry leader, we will be the first supplier to offer dry-tested SWRO elements.

  • Dry elements do not have expiration date, making easier warehouse maintenance and inventory planning.
  • Dry elements do not need re-preservation while wet elements preservation solution needs to be checked after 12 months of storage and eventually replaced. This operation is very labor intensive and can lead to high costs.
  • More attractive warranties. The allowable storage time before mandatory start of the warranty has been extended by 6 months.
  • Dry elements are lighter (4 kg / 8 pounds less) and do not have a preservation solution, which involves an easier and safer loading and installation.
  • Due to the lower weight and the lower energy and water consumed during testing, dry elements are more environmentally friendly compared to wet elements, more specifically dry elements represent a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to wet elements.

FilmTec™ SW30HRLE-400 Elements offer rejection and low total cost of water for seawater desalination. The FilmTec SW30HRLE-400 delivers high performance over the operating lifetime without the use of oxidative post-treatments and provides high NaCl and boron rejection to help meet World Health Organization (WHO) and other drinking water standards.

We’re proud to offer dry-tested reverse osmosis elements to give our customers the flexibility that comes with increased ability for storage and the operational and safety benefits related to its lower weight and the absence of preservation solution. For years, innovation in the SWRO space has been focused on incremental improvement of product specifications. The ability to transition from wet testing to dry testing seawater membranes is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the water filtration industry in many years. This innovation beyond product specifications has been enabled thanks to continuous advancements in membrane chemistry, automated precision & consistent manufacturing, single source production and enhancements in testing methods and procedures.
