GreenTape™ 9K7 LTCC Materials for Automotive Radar
From blind spot warning systems to autonomous driving, from forward collision warnings to stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, radar is a central component in many of the active safety systems in today’s automobiles.
Materials used in automotive electronics have to function reliably in extreme heat and other harsh environments. DuPont™ GreenTape™ low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material systems combine the benefits of high temperature co-fired ceramic and thick film technologies to meet these performance and reliability challenges with ease.
New addition to renowned LTCC product family
The latest addition to the DuPont family of LTCC products, GreenTape™ 9K7, is designed to deliver the best reliability/performance vs. system level cost through high levels of integration – with or without the integration of electro-magnetic band gaps (EBG) – as well as more cost-effective manufacturing processes.
GreenTape™ 9K7 is a lead free* low loss glass ceramic dielectric tape for high frequency applications – up to 100 GHz and beyond – that includes compatible gold and silver conductors, plus co-fired embedded resistors, developed for advanced high-frequency, microwave, and millimeter wave electronic circuit applications.
GreenTape™ 9K7 offers superior thermal conductivity, zero moisture absorption, monolithic structure, EBG elements (the highest possible integration level while suppressing parasitic cavity mode resonance and improving side lobe level performance), coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) matched to silicon for bare die attach via ball grid array (BGA)/flip chips, and buried passives.
