    WILMINGTON, Del., & BASEL, Switzerland, Sept. 2, 2014 – DuPont Protection Technologies (DuPont) and JACOB HOLM & SØNNER HOLDING A/S (Jacob Holm) today announced completion of the sale of the DuPont™ Sontara® business to Jacob Holm. Sontara® is a global nonwovens business that produces products used in a variety of medical and wipes applications. Jacob Holm is a leading company for spunlaced nonwoven fabrics.

Her synthesis of the first liquid crystal polymer and the invention of DuPont™ Kevlar® highlighted a distinguished career. In 1996, she became the third DuPont scientist to win a National Medal of Technology or of Science. She leaves a wonderful legacy of thousands of lives saved and countless injuries prevented by products made possible by her discovery.
