    WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 5, 2015 – Today, DuPont Protection Technologies (DuPont) received notification from the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) affirming the functional equivalence of transition Tyvek® to current Tyvek® for sterile medical packaging. This decision marks a significant milestone in the DuPont™ Tyvek® Medical Packaging Transition Project (MPTP), a multi-year undertaking to help the medical packaging industry transition to Tyvek® manufactured using updated flash spinning equipment and technology, and signals the beginning of commercial sales of the transitioned advanced material. Health Canada also has issued their guidance on filing a modified license amendment for transition Tyvek® in Canada.

    The Johns Hopkins University and DuPont have signed license and collaboration agreements allowing DuPont to commercialize a garment with innovative features from Johns Hopkins to help protect people on the front lines of the Ebola crisis and future deadly infectious disease outbreaks. DuPont intends to have the first of these garments available in the marketplace during the first half of 2016.

    WILMINGTON, Del., and GROTON, Mass., Sept. 25, 2015 – The Big Book: Pages for Peace Foundation and DuPont Protection Technologies (DuPont) today announced the completion of the World’s Biggest Peace book. The book, containing over 1,100 pages with 3,500 pieces of artwork, letters, quotes and messages of peace from such notable contributors as Nelson Mandela, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and Maya Angelou, measures 12 feet tall by 10 feet wide – 20 feet when open – and is printed entirely on DuPont™ Tyvek®. The 4,000 feet, or nearly three miles, of Tyvek® required for the project was donated by DuPont.

MCR Safety is promoting its products with DuPont technology under the new Dare Bigger™ brand platform. This glove uses patented DuPont™ Kevlar® engineered yarns allowing glove companies like MCR Safety to Dare Bigger™ and bring new levels of cut-resistance performance and dexterity, along with features such as high visibility, to the market.

    WILMINGTON, Del., June 19, 2014 – Statement from DuPont Chair and CEO Ellen Kullman: We are all saddened at the passing of DuPont scientist Stephanie Kwolek, a creative and determined chemist and a true pioneer for women in science. Her synthesis of the first liquid crystal polymer and the invention of DuPont™ Kevlar® highlighted a distinguished career. In 1996, she became the third DuPont scientist to win a National Medal of Technology or of Science. She leaves a wonderful legacy of thousands of lives saved and countless injuries prevented by products made possible by her discovery.
