The power of connecting
Empower people to thrive
At DuPont, our purpose and values are the foundation for a sustainability strategy that positions us for long‑term growth, strengthens and preserves our connection with our communities, and makes us the company of choice for the best and brightest of today and tomorrow. We provide employees professional and personal opportunities, resources and experiences and the ability to shape and contribute to our company purpose, strategy, and performance. In 2021, through advocacy, education, volunteerism and giving, our employees demonstrated their passion and commitment to empower people to thrive.
To thrive in a complex and diverse world, companies need to reflect, support, and nourish diversity in all forms. Our goal is to become one of the world’s most inclusive companies, with diversity well ahead of industry benchmarks by 2030. During 2021 we increased our focus on advancing diversity, equity and inclusion and made significant progress including publishing a DE&I dashboard and our EEO-1 report on our website. We also increased engagement with minority serving institutions, including sponsoring 20 four-year scholarships for students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). We also committed $10 million over the next 10 years specifically to racial equity and equality and $20 million to the Black Economic Development Fund.
Our employees drive our strategic vision, manage our operations, and develop the products we offer the world. Their holistic well-being is critical to our success. By 2030, we will create a workplace where employees report high levels of well-being and fulfillment. Our company’s approach is directly tied to holistic well-being and three areas that people care about: opportunity, experience, and purpose. In 2021, we increased support for our employees to be their best selves – through learning, development, advancement, and work experiences. We launched a mental health awareness campaign, expanded employee assistance benefits, and introduced “My Career Journey” roadmaps with tools to build a more fulfilling career at DuPont.
Our global community impact strategy delivers on our company purpose to empower the world with the essential innovations to thrive. Our goal is to improve more than 100 million lives through targeted social impact programs by 2030. In 2021, we funded more than 450 charitable projects with a focus on basics to thrive, STEM education, and innovations for good across 29 countries, impacting more than 3.5 million lives since 2020. Additionally, we launched a three-year $1.5 million partnership with Discovery Education and the Delaware Department of Education to drive STEM exposure to more than 75,000 students in Delaware middle and high schools. We partnered with water.org to impact more than 100,000 lives through clean water and hygiene programs, and donated building and construction materials to nearly 125 Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

IT Cares donations enable student education, provide access to employment, and help connect facilities to the world. Giving new life to laptops, phones and other hardware reduces waste to landfills, as well as carbon outputs from the manufacturing and transportation cycles of new devices.
