Mining, Oil & Gas

In mining, oil, and gas extraction, PPE is worn across the board but varies site-by-site according to the chemical hazards encountered. DuPont offers a wide range of chemical protective clothing—from low to high protection—that addresses the diverse needs of these workers. These sectors encompass a variety of worker tasks that may require differing levels of protection, from equipment maintenance to oil-based drilling. Hazards vary from low-level dirt and grime to low concentrations of chemicals in oil-based muds.

Note that a specific fabric may be well suited for one (or more) application, but poorly suited for others.

It is important to choose the right garment for each specific application. Always conduct a hazard risk assessment.

The products below are frequently selected for use in mining or oil & gas extraction, but this is not a comprehensive list.  Please click the Industry option in the Product Selector tool at the top of this page to specify your unique challenges and find the garment(s) that best suit your needs.
