Thank you for choosing DuPont™ Tyvek®! We hope you will use the DuPont™ Tyvek® brand in the right way when you are marketing your products to your consumers, so that you can avoid any risk of trademark infringement.

The trademark name, logo and other visual identity elements of the DuPont™ Tyvek® brand are valuable assets of DuPont. We respect intellectual property rights of other companies, and we also require others to do the same. With this DuPont™ Tyvek® Brand Guideline, we aim to help you clearly understand the right ways to use DuPont™ Tyvek® brand assets. It covers:

  • Fair use of the Tyvek® brand
  • Licensed use of the Tyvek® brand
  • Misuse of the Tyvek® brand

DuPont treats the improper use of its trademark assets seriously. We are monitoring the use of Tyvek® trademark in the market, and are taking necessary actions to protect the brand image of DuPont™ Tyvek® to safeguard our brand rights and interests. Please make sure you read this guideline in detail and follow the guideline in your product sales and marketing activities.

I. Fair use of the DuPont™ Tyvek® Brand - applicable to non-licensees of the Tyvek® brand

Customers who buy DuPont™ Tyvek® from the authorized distributors are entitled to use the Tyvek® brand for informational purposes regarding percentage of content by weight, or in total, in the garments and other products they made with Tyvek®. And in such fair-use of Tyvek® brand, you must make a true statement, instead of faking any information which might damage the image of Tyvek® brand.

In the description of the products made with Tyvek®, you can use the Tyvek® trademark in the following way: "It is made of DuPont™ Tyvek®.

DO’s for proper Tyvek® brand reference

  1. Always capitalize the T in Tyvek®. EXAMPLE: Printed on tear-proof and water-resistant DuPont™ Tyvek® material.
  2. Include the registered trademark symbol (®) after each instance of Tyvek®. EXAMPLE: Tyvek® material is water-resistant and recyclable.
  3. Include the generic descriptor at least once per page. EXAMPLE: Tyvek® sheet or Tyvek® material.
  4. Include the legal footnote at the bottom of all materials. EXAMPLE: DuPont™ and Tyvek® are trademark and registered trademark owned by affiliates of DuPont de Nemours, Inc.
  5. Reference to Tyvek® may only be included in the material/ingredient content description of the product containing Tyvek®. If such a reference is included in text, it may be cited one time only.
  6. If you are not sure whether the trademark or brand is properly used, contact the business representatives or the authorized distributors of DuPont™ Tyvek® to double check.

Correct use of Tyvek® trademark:


DON’Ts for proper Tyvek® brand reference

  1. Never use the Tyvek® trademark as part of your company name. EXAMPLE: Worldwide Tyvek® Sportswear, Inc.
  2. Never use the Tyvek® trademark as part of your product name. EXAMPLE: Nico Sport Tyvek® shoulder bag
  3. Never use the Tyvek® trademark as part of your website name. EXAMPLE: www.tyvek-sportswear.com
  4. Never use the Tyvek® trademark as a modifier. EXAMPLE: Tyvek®-enhanced shell
  5. Tyvek® should not be associated with any product claims. EXAMPLE: Product resists tearing because it is made with Tyvek®.
  6. Do not use Tyvek® in headlines or in any other prominent graphics. EXAMPLE: Performance, brought to you by Tyvek®.
  7. Tyvek® should not be bolded. EXAMPLE: Made with recyclable Tyvek®.
  8. Tyvek® should not be italicized. EXAMPLE: Made with recyclable Tyvek®.
  9. Contact the business representatives or the authorized distributors of DuPont™ Tyvek® to double check when you are not sure whether it’s proper use or not.

II. Licensed use of the Tyvek® brand - Applicable to licensees of Tyvek® brand

Customers could use Tyvek® Brand in more prominent ways to benefit from the brand value of DuPont™ Tyvek®, if they have a written license agreement with DuPont and become a licensee of Tyvek® brand.

On the fair-use basis, if customers go further to apply for a licensed use of Tyvek® brand, and pass the a rigorous product stewardship review from DuPont and then sign a "Trademark License Agreement (TMLA)" with DuPont, they could be a DuPont™ Tyvek® brand licensee.

As a brand licensee, customers could use the Tyvek® logo on their product labels, hang tags, packaging, shipping containers, promotional material, and advertisements, or other prominent ways.

III. Misuse of Tyvek® Brand

DuPont monitors and enforces its rights to the fullest extent of the law. We are vigilant on third party uses of the Tyvek® brand in all media and throughout the world to ensure the consumer public receives authentic goods made with DuPont™ Tyvek® and that our trademark is used properly.
