DuPont™ Flashing Tape

Helps Seals Against Air and Water Intrusion Around Windows and Doors
DuPont™ Flashing Tape is a self-adhered flashing tape with improved workability made from polypropylene film with a butyl rubber adhesive backing. Engineered to withstand the rigors of the job site. DuPont™ Flashing Tape helps create a durable seal against water intrusion around heads and jambs of rectangular windows and doors.

In addition to bulk water holdout, DuPont™ Flashing Tape can help control air leakage. Where windows and doors interface with sheathing or the DuPont™ Tyvek® Water-Resistive Barrier (WRB), DuPont™ Flashing Tape can help keep heated and cooled air in and exterior air out more effectively.

As part of a complete building envelope system, DuPont™ Flashing Tape can help reduce the risk of water damage, increase building comfort, and improve energy efficiency.

FAQ

Where can 12' DuPont Flashing Tape be utilized?
12' DuPont™ Flashing Tape can be used at inside/outside corners both underneath and on top of the Tyvek® WRB. Additionally, it can be used to protect the Tyvek® WRB behind ledger boards. Refer to the applicable DuPont Installation Guideline found at building.dupont.com for more information.
Are flashing patches required behind cladding fasteners installed over DuPont Tyvek® Water-Resistive and Air Barriers (WRB)?
In order to maintain air and water holdout for the assembly, the use of DuPont™ Flashing Tape, DuPont™ StraightFlash™, or recommended alternate patches behind cladding fasteners may be required and depends on the cladding type and project performance designations. Refer to the Alternate Fastening section in the applicable DuPont Installation Guideline found on the building.dupont.com for more information.
Is DuPont™ Flashing Tape self-healing?
DuPont™ Flashing Tape passes AAMA 711 Specification for Self-Adhering Flashing Used for Installation of Exterior Wall Fenestration Products Section 5.2 ' Water Penetration Resistance Around Fasteners'. 'Self-healing' flashing has the ability to recover to its original state after minor punctures/holes, while 'self-sealing' flashing can offer air and water infiltration resistance at the fastener location. DuPont™ Flashing Tape, and other DuPont Self-Adhered Flashing Products, are 'self-sealing' not 'self-healing'.
