SHANGHAI, Oct. 23, 2018 – DuPont Advanced Printing (DuPont) will highlight its newest flexography solutions for increasing print quality, raising productivity and improving sustainability at All in Print China 2018, Oct. 24-28 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. These include the company’s broad, industry-leading portfolio of DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY photopolymer plates and its next-generation DuPont™ Cyrel® FAST thermal processing equipment, which will be exhibited in hall N2/Booth N2-A140.
DuPont will be highlighting at the show its success in developing breakthrough flexographic technologies that advance sustainability in packaging and printing, which is a major and growing customer focus in Asia.
Cyrel® EASY Plate Platform Addresses Diverse Needs
Cyrel® EASY plates are based on a photopolymer technology that produces higher ink transfer, color saturation and resolution. The platform simplifies the prepress process by building flat top digital dots directly into the plate, resulting in increased productivity and improved print quality.
Other products include:
Cyrel® FAST 2000 TD Promotes Solvent-free Sustainability
The Cyrel® FAST 2000TD thermal processor is the latest-generation technology in the company’s FAST processor portfolio. The Cyrel® FAST technology enables production of high-quality plates by combining the efficiency and speed of digital imaging with the sustainability benefits of thermal plate processing, namely, the reduction in environmental impact by eliminating the use of solvents for plate wash-out. This innovative equipment also shortens cycle times because it requires no drying operations.
A Life Cycle Assessment conducted by DuPont using ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 14040 guidelines for environmental management demonstrated that flexography in packaging offered a 50 percent savings in carbon emission and nonrenewable energy source consumption compared to gravure printing. The second step in the ISO Life Cycle Assessment conducted by DuPont demonstrated that the Cyrel® FAST 2000TD processor yielded up to 53 percent savings in carbon emission and up to a 63 percent reduction in nonrenewable energy source consumption compared to a solvent-based workflow.
“DuPont is investing heavily in cutting-edge flexography solutions that will help address customer demands for consistently high printing quality and greater workflow efficiency, combined with lower environmental impact,” said Lucy Chen, Asia Pacific business director for DuPont Advanced Printing. “We will continue to push the boundaries of technological innovation to meet customer needs, being mindful of sustainability.”
