DuPont BETAMATE™ Broad Bake Adhesive Wins 2024 Altair Enlighten Award

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 6, 2024 – DuPont is pleased to announce that its BETAMATE™ broad bake adhesive technology has been selected as a first-place winner of the 2024 Altair Enlighten Award in the Sustainable Product category. Presented in association with the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), the Altair Enlighten Award is the automotive industry’s only award dedicated to lightweighting and sustainability. The Sustainable Product category recognizes solutions that enable emissions reductions, lightweighting, material circularity, and safety advances.

BETAMATE™ broad bake structural adhesives help reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions during vehicle body manufacturing by enabling adhesive curing in the e-coat oven at significantly lower temperatures and allowing shorter oven cycles. This technology also facilitates the reduction of vehicle weight by durably joining lightweight substrates such as aluminum and higher strength steel grades. BETAMATE™ broad bake technology is optimized to offer vehicle design flexibility as well as to enable use of current application equipment and processes while the material’s very long shelf life ensures an easy global supply chain.
