Named Top Innovator in the green product category

FREIENBACH, Switzerland, Dec. 4, 2024 – DuPont is pleased to announce that its BETATECH™ thermal interface material (TIM) has been named winner of the 2024 CLEPA Top Innovator Award in the Green Product category. Presented by CLEPA – the European Association of Automotive Suppliers - the Top Innovator award recognizes the most ground-breaking innovations in the automotive supply industry, carefully selected by an expert jury, from around 80 applications.

BETATECH™ TIM introduces a revolutionary thermal management solution for electric vehicle (EV) battery systems. Its di-isocyanate-free, safer by design technology prioritizes health and safety without compromising on performance. In electric vehicles, higher-energy-density batteries create thermal management challenges in safety and efficiency, requiring effective thermal management. BETATECH™ TIM is a novel solution that helps control heat in EV batteries by helping to maintain optimal temperatures during both charging and operation. The material demonstrates high thermal conductivity that facilitates superior thermal management that extends battery lifetime and vehicle range while decreasing the chance of thermal runaway. The material is applied directly onto the cooling plate creating a thermal connection between the battery cells and the cooling plate thus enabling efficient thermal management.
