What is secondary FR?
There are two categories of flame-resistant (FR) garments sold for industrial applications: primary FR garments and secondary FR garments (SFR). Each category is designed to perform different tasks. Secondary flame-resistant garments (like Tyvek® 400 SFR and Tychem® 2000 SFR ) should not be worn without primary flame-resistant garments underneath. The common industry definitions, according to industry standards, are as follows:

Please visit DuPont™ SafeSPEC™ to learn more about Tyvek® 400 SFR and Tychem® 2000 SFR garments and the specified hazards they help protect against.
