Mark P. Vergnano
Executive Vice President
Mark P. Vergnano is executive vice president. He is responsible for businesses in the Performance Chemicals segment: DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts and Titanium Technologies. In January 2014, DuPont announced that Mr. Vergnano will become the chief executive officer of The Chemours Company after separation from DuPont, which is expected to occur mid-2015.
He joined DuPont in 1980 as a process engineer in the former Fibers Department in Richmond, Va. He held a variety of manufacturing, technical and business assignments throughout his career and has lived in a variety of locations. He was named vice president and general manager for DuPont Nonwovens in February 2003 and vice president and general manager for DuPont Surfaces and Building Innovations in October 2005. In June 2006 he was named group vice president of DuPont Safety & Protection. He was named executive vice president in October 2009.
Born in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Vergnano received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut and master's degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Vergnano is a member of the University of Connecticut School of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Engineers and Hall of Fame, is on the board of directors for the U.S. National Safety Council and on the advisory board for the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. He also is a member of the board of directors for Johnson Controls, Inc.
