When COVID-19 restrictions prevented the International Congress of Maintenance and Asset Management from holding its live event in Bogotá, Colombia, in August, organizers moved the event online. The MOLYKOTE® Specialty Lubricants team and Colombian channel partner IRPC (Industrial Rubber Products Colombia S. A.) were quick to take advantage of this virtual opportunity to meet customer needs.
The International Congress typically attracts 15,000 people representing more than 3,000 companies from all over South America, bringing together buyers and sellers of products that support businesses across a wide range of industries – from mining, energy and cement to food and beverage to MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul).
To ensure that attendees received the information they needed and were able to interact meaningfully with MOLYKOTE® lubrication experts, the DuPont Transportation & Industrial business unit partnered with IRPC to create a robust virtual offering.
DuPont Latin America North Channel Manager Alex Saldaña and his team built a virtual booth, complete with opportunities for attendees to interact with MOLYKOTE® Smart Lubrication™ experts as well as download product information. Virtual participants were even able to attend a presentation by Saldaña on the advantages of using lubricating pastes and anti-friction coatings in applications with high loads and temperatures.
“This turned out to be a very successful event from a customer engagement standpoint,” Saldaña said. “We were able to connect with so many attendees and found new opportunities to collaborate with South American businesses in the development of solutions for their specialty lubrication challenges.”
Based on this experience, Saldaña believes virtual events may play an increasingly important role in DuPont’s efforts to connect with customers in a meaningful way.
