Helping to Overcome Food Insecurity
Nearly 120 DuPont employees at several of our sites in Michigan, U.S.A., combined their collective efforts with those of two nonprofits dedicated to alleviating hunger—Gleaners and Hidden Harvest—to make an impact.

Our Alphaville site in São Paulo, Brazil, combined its annual employee flu vaccination campaign with a community food donation event. Approximately 100 employees brought non-perishable food items to their vaccine appointment to be donated to Love for Life, an NGO whose mission focuses on transforming the lives of people, especially children, in needy communities.
The Love for Life organization in Brazil used DuPont donations to help create nutritional food packages that they delivered to local individuals and families struggling with food insecurity. In total, our donations helped to feed 50 people for multiple weeks.
The FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) explains food insecurity as: A person is food insecure when they lack regular access to enough safe and nutritious food for normal growth and development and an active and healthy life. This may be due to unavailability of food and/or lack of resources to obtain food. Food insecurity can be experienced at different levels of severity.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, employees need flexible options for their nutrition and wellness programs. Globally, Integrated Health Services (IHS) provides well-being programs such as virtual or on-site health assessments, walking challenges, nutrition awareness events, and online resources.
IT Cares is an ongoing commitment to communities and the environment that upcycles office technology and empowers individuals who otherwise face barriers to technology.
DuPont employees all over the world volunteered time, talent and treasure to aid in combating food insecurity in their communities
STEM job opportunities continue to outnumber qualified applicants, especially in the US, and historically under-represented populations continue to be under-represented in STEM fields. DuPont employees from around the globe are taking action to inspire students and help them see what they can be.
In 2021, employees reached out to our global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) teams expressing desire to be better prepared in their journey to becoming better allies for inclusion.
