<h2><p style="color:white">DuPont Partners with Chippewa Nature Center on Volunteer Tree Planting Program </h2>

Employee Volunteerism Promotes Sustainable Practices in Midland Community

MIDLAND, MI., July 18, 2024— In 2023, DuPont’s Clear into the Future program awarded a grant to the Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) to support a land restoration project aimed at removing invasive exotic plant species followed by planting a diverse array of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. From April through June this year, over 40 DuPont employees proudly volunteered over 80 hours of their time to plant 1,200 trees to repopulate and add diversity to a recently controlled invasive species area. They also removed unwanted vegetation from newly planted trees to prevent them from getting overcrowded by taller plants. 

"Our partnership with DuPont continues to yield positive impacts on CNC’s land restoration activities through their Clear into the Future initiative," said Dennis Pilaske, Executive Director of Chippewa Nature Center. "We remain grateful for DuPont’s financial contribution and volunteer support which will have a positive impact on our local environment for decades to come.”

The project is expected to increase biodiversity in the Great Lakes Bay Region in ecosystems that are seeing the greatest decline in species, such as wetlands and fields.
